had my usual weekends' family gathering with extended family.. grandparents, aunts, uncles and cozzies. today was slightly more special cos its my dad's bday.. so we went to try out something new!....
Canton Wok by Chef Kang ard Joo Chiat area.. apparently he's a pretty well-known chef in the hotel line, some years back he left his hotel and started this place himself.. its sorta a "High Class Sze Char" kinda place.. seriously, ive never heard of his name or anything abt him.. but saw lotsa newspaper cutting ard the restaurant, so i assume that he's really famous.. a pretty friendly man who walks ard the restaurant explaining to his guest his few signature dishes~
cos its our first time, we arent sure of wads good and worth trying so he did the ordering for us~
- Bacon strips wrapped prawns with mayo
- Deep fried lotus with stir-fry pepper sauce
- Bee Hoon crabs
- Cod fish head
- Wild Boar meat
- Pork Ribs with some special sauce
- Bean Curd
though all the dishes seems, looks, sounds pretty normal.. like those u wld find in any other restaurant, but i wld say its real good.. like the beancurd, Chef Kang was telling us he made them himself, using soya beans, grinning for hours.. woo.. aft hearing that, that piece of beancurd tastes even better! hahaha. *its all in the mind*
and... as usual! the birthday cake! oh did i tell u my family is a fan of cakes.. of maybe more like my aunts.. whenever we celebrate birthday they will buy diff kinda cakes frm every corner of SG and try them tgt.. heh sometimes things gets extra yummy when u eat in small pieces, digging in tgt.. we dun eat cake by slicing it up.. but by digging into in with our own tea spoons.. ahh, sounds digusting isn't it.. its ONE-BIG-FAMILY kinda thing ma! =p
this time ard, its frm Conrad~ Royal Hazelnut Crumble. dun ask me if its nice.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. i didnt try! im on diet remb? =(((
but it definitely looks very yummy. heh! feasting with my eyes..

somethings are just beyond words. just wanna thank you for every single thing you've given to this family. you complete it =) you made me a very very blessed girl since that very day mummy gave birth to me.. and im very sure Mummy, Di Dis & Mei Mei feels the same way too!...
just hope i wouldnt disappoint u in anyway for the rest of my life.. do you proud like any daughter shld.. =)
you're the reason for who i am today. i owe it to you Ah Pa!
